Chapter 7: The Desperation

Chaos erupted in the ballroom. Reporters swarmed Bianca, shoving microphones in her face, demanding answers. She shoved her way through the crowd, her crimson dress catching on a chair, tearing the expensive silk. She looked frantic, cornered, and entirely unhinged.

"It's a deepfake!" she screamed at the reporters, but her voice cracked with panic. "He manufactured it! He's trying to frame me!"

But the crowd wasn't buying it. The high society that had embraced her a week ago now looked at her with pure disgust. She scrambled out the side exit of the hotel, narrowly avoiding the uniformed officers entering through the front doors.

For the next forty-eight hours, Bianca was a fugitive. Her bank accounts—the ones Marcus had legally frozen due to fraud investigations—declined every transaction. Her "friends" in Los Angeles refused to answer her calls. Victor Vance issued a public statement condemning her actions and distancing his company from her.

Sitting in a cheap motel room on the outskirts of the city, watching her own face plastered across every news network, Bianca realized it was truly over. Chicago PD had officially issued a warrant for her arrest regarding the Sterling case, citing the new evidence of her modus operandi.

But Bianca was not a woman who knew how to lose gracefully. If she was going down, she refused to walk away empty-handed. She knew the codes to the Hale estate's secondary safe in the master bedroom. There was millions in untraceable family jewelry inside.

She just needed to get in one last time.
