Six months later.

The Rossi estate was completely restored, more fortified and grander than ever. Tonight was the annual charity gala, the biggest event of the criminal and political social season.

In the master suite, Beatrice stared at herself in the full-length mirror. She wore a custom-made, deep emerald gown that hugged her curves flawlessly. Diamonds glittered at her throat. She looked powerful. She looked like a queen.

Leo walked in, dressed in a sharp black tuxedo. He stopped in his tracks, staring at her with unabashed hunger. "You are going to bring this city to its knees," he murmured, kissing the exposed skin of her neck.
