Days turned into weeks, and the trauma of the closet began to slowly fade. Arthur hired a contractor to permanently brick up the upstairs closet of the suburban house. He also convinced his daughter to sell the property and move closer to his cabin in the woods. Mason underwent therapy, slowly recovering from the psychological scars of his captivity. He stopped hearing the strange voices, and color finally returned to his cheeks. Lily went back to school, her cheerful personality bubbling back to the surface. Arthur spent his days chopping wood and watching over his grandchildren with a protective eye. He kept the silver pendant close to his heart, a constant reminder of their hard-fought victory. The dark entity was trapped, unable to feed on their fear any longer. They had faced the ultimate terror and survived by trusting in each other. Peace had finally returned to their lives.
