Chapter 6 - The Research
Morning light brought a brief sense of safety to the isolated cabin. Arthur went to his dusty study, pulling down heavy boxes of old property records. He needed to understand what kind of evil was living inside his daughter’s house. He spent hours reading through faded newspaper clippings and old town archives. He discovered that the house was built on land previously owned by an occultist in the early nineteen hundreds. The occultist had vanished mysteriously, leaving behind rumors of a portal to a darker dimension. This portal was supposedly located exactly where the upstairs closet now stood. The entity inside fed on fear and used the voices of loved ones as a cruel trap. Arthur realized that the warning note was Mason’s last lucid attempt to protect his family. To save his grandson, Arthur would have to close the portal from the inside. He began to formulate a dangerous plan.
