Chapter 20 - The LegacyThree months later.

The private maternity suite at the Villaseñor Medical Center was filled with soft, golden morning light.
Outside, the city of Mexico was waking up, entirely unaware that the heir to the largest corporate empire in the country had just taken his first breath.
Diego sat on the edge of the hospital bed. For a man who controlled thousands of employees and billions of dollars, he looked completely and utterly undone. His hair was messy, his tie was discarded, and tears were freely streaming down his face.
He was holding a tiny bundle wrapped in a soft blue blanket.
Mateo Villaseñor.
The baby boy let out a soft, sleepy yawn, his tiny fist waving in the air. He had a tuft of thick, dark hair and his mother's beautiful, delicate features.
"He's perfect," Diego choked out, a wet, breathless laugh escaping his lips as he gently kissed his son’s forehead.
Marisol was resting against the pillows, exhausted but glowing with an ethereal, radiant happiness. She reached out, her fingers gently brushing Diego’s cheek, wiping away his tears.
"He looks exactly like you," Marisol whispered, her heart overflowing with love.
The door to the suite slowly creaked open.
Eight-year-old Valentina peeked her head in, clutching a brand-new stuffed bear. Chief Silva stood respectfully in the hallway, smiling as he closed the door behind her.
"Mama? Papa?" Valentina whispered, tiptoeing into the room as if the floor were made of glass.
"Come here, mi princesa," Diego smiled warmly, gesturing for her to approach.
Valentina climbed carefully onto the edge of the bed. Her dark eyes went wide with absolute wonder as she looked at the tiny baby resting in her father’s strong arms.
"Is that my brother?" Valentina whispered in awe.
"Yes," Marisol smiled, her eyes filling with happy tears. "Meet Mateo."
Diego gently lowered his arms so Valentina could see perfectly. The little girl reached out a hesitant, trembling finger and gently stroked the baby’s incredibly soft cheek. Mateo stirred slightly, his tiny hand wrapping instinctively around Valentina’s finger.
Valentina gasped, a giant smile breaking across her face. "He's holding my hand! Papa, look!"
"He knows you're his big sister," Diego said, his voice thick with emotion. "He knows you are going to protect him forever."
Diego looked at the scene before him.
He looked at Valentina, the beautiful, intelligent daughter who had survived in the shadows of his kitchen, now destined to inherit the world.
He looked at Mateo, the son who would never know the coldness of a broken family, born into absolute warmth and unconditional love.
And finally, he looked at Marisol. The maid who had captured his heart. The woman who had endured unimaginable cruelty, only to rise from the ashes and conquer his entire world.
For years, Diego had been told that a man’s legacy was measured by his wealth, the buildings he constructed, and the rivals he crushed. His family had tried to force him to marry a woman he despised, simply to add more zeros to a bank account.
But as he sat in the hospital room, surrounded by the family he had fought so brutally to protect, Diego finally understood the truth.
The billions didn't matter. The mansions were just stone and glass.
His true legacy wasn't an empire. It was them.
Marisol reached out, taking Diego’s free hand and squeezing it tightly. She looked into his dark, tear-filled eyes, reading his thoughts perfectly.
"We did it," Marisol whispered, a tear slipping down her cheek. "We finally won."

Diego leaned down, pressing a deep, passionate, and infinitely grateful kiss to his wife's lips.
"No, mi amor," Diego murmured softly against her mouth, holding his son in one arm and his daughter close with the other. "This is just the beginning."
