Alexander had spent his entire life believing one thing.

Inside his private office, Alexander stared at old family photographs.

Hannah stood beside him.
“You’re blaming yourself.”
He didn’t answer.

“Your family’s actions are not yours.”
Alexander looked at her.

He stepped closer.
“No.”

Before Hannah could answer, Michael entered.
“We found something.”
Alexander turned.
“What?”
Michael placed a file on the desk.
“The person who deleted the video left a trace.”
He opened the file.
A security image appeared.
A person entering the Carver archives.
Hannah looked closely.
Then froze.
Because she knew the person.
Alexander noticed her reaction.
“Who is it?”
Her voice was barely a whisper.
“Evelyn.”
Alexander’s face changed.
His stepmother.
The woman who raised him after his mother died.
The woman everyone believed was kind.
The woman who had always supported the family.
Michael nodded.
“She accessed the archives three hours ago.”
Alexander couldn’t speak.
For years, he trusted Evelyn.
She was family.

A phone rang.
Everyone looked at Alexander.
It was Evelyn.
He answered.
“Hello?”
Her voice came through calmly.
“I know you found the files.”
Alexander’s eyes hardened.
“Where are you?”
A pause.
Then:
“I’m somewhere your father used to go.”
Alexander’s expression changed.
“What does that mean?”
Evelyn sighed.
“It means it’s time you learned the truth about him.”
Hannah moved closer.
“What is she saying?”
Alexander listened.
Then Evelyn said the words that changed everything.
“Your father wasn’t the victim, Alexander.”
Silence.
“He was part of it.”
The call ended.
Alexander stood frozen.
Because if Evelyn was telling the truth…
