Chapter 14 - Tracking the Syndicate
Before the assault they needed to disable the external communications. They drove the van to a cell tower that serviced the estate. Jax hacked into the network and isolated the data traffic. He found the private server the father used for his illegal banking. They downloaded gigabytes of encrypted evidence detailing fraud and murder. This data was the insurance policy they needed for the authorities later. Once the download was complete Jax initiated a localized blackout virus. The security cameras and phone lines at the estate went totally blind. The syndicate was now completely cut off from the outside world. Sarah checked her watch and gave the signal to move out. The van rolled silently down the dark rural road toward the target. They parked a mile away and proceeded on foot through the thick woods. The night was pitch black and the air was thick with humidity. They moved through the dense foliage without making a single sound. The towering stone walls of the criminal estate finally loomed ahead.
