Chapter 17 - Confronting the Father

The spacious office was illuminated only by the moonlight through the window. Mark's father sat behind a massive mahogany desk looking completely calm. He had a silver revolver resting on the wood right in front of him. Sarah kept her rifle aimed directly at his arrogant forehead. He clapped his hands slowly and praised her impressive tactical skills. He admitted that his son was weak and had clearly underestimated her. He offered her a massive sum of money to walk away forever. He promised she would never have to worry about anything again. Sarah stepped forward and slammed her rifle barrel onto his desk. She told him that some things in life were not for sale. She demanded that he slide the silver revolver away from his hands. He smirked and slowly pushed the gun to the edge of the desk. He still believed he was untouchable despite the armed soldiers present. He told her that killing him would just make her a common murderer. Sarah replied that she was not there to act as an assassin.
