Chapter 5 - Into the Hallway
The heavy door swung open and a large man stepped inside. He was holding a suppressed pistol in his right hand. Sarah did not hesitate for a single second. She swung the metal bat and struck his wrist with brutal force. The bone snapped and the pistol dropped to the floor. Before he could scream she drove the glass bottle into his shoulder. He collapsed silently as she caught his falling body. She dragged him inside the room and took his weapon. Now the odds were slightly better with a firearm in her possession. She checked the magazine and found fifteen rounds of ammunition. She peeked into the long hallway and saw no one else nearby. The other three guards must be patrolling the upper decks. Sarah slipped out of the room and closed the door behind her. She moved with silent precision down the carpeted corridor. The ambient music of the cruise ship masked her footsteps perfectly. She navigated toward the crew stairwell at the end of the hall.
