Chapter 3 - The Locked Door
The reality of the situation settled over her like a heavy blanket. Four armed mercenaries were waiting just down the corridor. They were likely expecting Mark to open the door victorious. Sarah needed a tactical plan to escape this floating prison. She instructed Mark to lie face down on the carpet. He complied quickly because he was terrified of her skills. She found a roll of heavy packing tape inside his travel bag. It was clear he had brought it to use on her. She secured his wrists and his ankles with tight layers of tape. Then she tore a strip of fabric from the bedsheet for a gag. Mark was effectively neutralized and hidden out of sight. Sarah walked over to the thick wooden door and pressed her ear against it. She could hear heavy footsteps pacing in the hallway. The men outside were getting impatient and might breach the room soon. She needed a weapon better than a simple metal bat. She scanned the luxurious suite for anything sharp or deadly.
