Beatrice took the witness stand as the star witness for the prosecution. She looked old and frail but her voice was sharp. She admitted that Mark came up with the plan to harm Eleanor. She claimed she only went along with it because she loved her son. Mark screamed at his mother from the defendant's table. He called her a liar and a monster in front of the judge. The judge threatened to have him gagged if he did not stop. The jury watched the family tear itself apart in real time. Beatrice confessed to the insurance fraud and the physical abuse. She cried and begged the jury for absolute mercy. Eleanor watched them destroy each other with zero sympathy. They had tried to destroy her and steal her beautiful child.
