Detective Miller continued to dig into Beatrice and her past. He discovered a trail of dark financial secrets. Beatrice was deeply in debt and facing bankruptcy. Mark had secretly taken out a massive life insurance policy on Eleanor. The police found documents hidden in Mark's home office. Beatrice had planned to gain full custody of the baby. They were going to frame Eleanor as mentally incompetent. If something fatal happened to Eleanor they would collect the money. The detective rushed to the shelter to inform Eleanor. Hearing this horrifying truth made Eleanor feel sick to her stomach. She had married a man who was willing to destroy her for cash. The danger was much larger than a simple family argument. She thanked the detective for uncovering the plot. Her resolve to fight them in court became unbreakable. She would never let them near her child again.
