Chapter 18 - Financial Freedom
After a year of hard work Eleanor finally graduated from college. She applied for a job at a prestigious local accounting firm. During the interview she impressed them with her sharp skills. She was hired immediately and given a generous starting salary. Financial independence was the greatest feeling in the entire world. She bought a reliable car and opened a savings account for her daughter. She no longer had to rely on anyone else for survival. The trauma of being financially controlled by Mark was finally gone. She celebrated her first paycheck by buying a special cake. She and her daughter sat at the kitchen table and ate the sweet dessert. Life had turned around in the most miraculous way possible. She looked at the bank statement and smiled with true satisfaction. She was building a solid foundation for their long future. Nobody could ever take this hard earned freedom away from her. She had built this beautiful life with her own two hands.
